Selfishly vs. Humbly asking for the Holy Spirit (gifts)

If you’re seeking the Holy Spirit for the gifts only, and NOT for eternal life... you must examine yourself and why you follow Jesus.

We ask for the Holy Spirit to be born again, not to fulfill our selfish desires. We seek the Holy Spirit to become a new creature in the Lord Jesus—and THEN He will give you His spiritual gifts to further His Kingdom; on His timing not ours.
